Rob, hope you aren't out of commission too long. The garden can turn on ya if left unattended very long. Sorry about the injury.

Derylin, I have my DH's trail cam set up in the garden (aimed at the hostas where they ate up a BUNCH of them). Last night only pictures we got was one opossum and a mama and youngster raccoon. I've been spraying with Deer Guard. A recipe I got from Facebook. Seems to be doing okay; I do spray everyday. I think if I would have started early on, I wouldn't have had to spray as often.

Deer Guard
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1 Tablespoon dish soap
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
Beat the above and add to a gallon of water.
I keep it in the refrigerator.

It even seems to help with the Japanese Beetles also. I have to say "seems" because I don't believe anything is the total answer to deer or beetles.
