Welcome Ann! Ascot should do fine in your zone. You will probably need to see if it gets fungal diseases since you live in a higher humidity area. You will also probably have to force it into dormancy in the winter/early spring, when you prune.
My Ascot has really started to take off and is now probably double the size of when I took that picture of its first bloom. It is getting lots of buds on it.
