After eating dirt yesterday with the horrendous winds, they've finally died down this morning. 9News states that they were gusting between 50-60mph constantly & I haven't seen wind like that in YEARS. The entire city of Denver was completed covered in a nasty dust storm like something out of a movie. Couldn't see more than a few blocks, trucks were being blown over, huge grassfire out on the eastern plains. That wind sucked! I feel bad for Cindi - she's probably got my horrible winds now! But I did some cleaning in my daylily bed yesterday (stupid me) and my Tradescantias (concord grape, Sweet kate, & Blueberry Sunday) are all about 3-4" tall already. My agastaches are all sprouting, I've got hyacinths about 2" from planting them last year, tulips are about 3-4" above ground, almost all my miniature roses in the minibed are leafing out (that survived.. I think I lost 2-3 from last year's plantings from Burling Sad ). A couple of my trees are thinking about leafing out (crabapples) but I think I lost a maple & a crabapple due to sunscorching (our altitude here kills trees w/o protection). I'm just worried about some of the roses I got Cliff - they tried to leaf out already and got zapped by a few cold cold nights. But they should be OK, they're still under their 2-6" of mulch. *cross fingers*
Roses are one of my passions! Just opened, my Etsy shop (to fund my rose hobby)! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Tweet...
