Summer is my least favourite season-it's so miserable outside with the heat and bugs,and even going out to my beloved land becomes a wearisome chore. So I spend the time dreaming of the coming autumn, when "life" returns. I'm still dithering over placement of my potted roses-it's so hard to decide because you can't get a great idea of how a given plant will behave once it's released from it's pot.In particular I have this very prominent spot in my garden and I'd like to place two or three roses here. I've sort of decided that one will be Ebb Tide,since I need an uber-dark violet there,but what to put with it? On the Houzz forum, someone compared Lavender Veranda to Quicksilver,saying their flowers were similar-is this true? because if so, I'd like LV in a prominent spot (I pine for Quicksilver, but it isn't sold in Europe,darnit). LV in it's pot does seem to be very anxious to flower. The leaves seem yellowish and pale, but I'm guessing that that is due to the fact that it's outgrown it's pot,and in spite of this kind of unhealthy colour,it shows absolutely NO bspot or mildew,so as a plant it seems like a winner. The flowers didn't bowl me over for beauty, but experience has taught that potted young roses often can't express themselves fully. So I'd love to hear the opinions of any of you who have this rose,in the hope that it will help me to make up my mind...
