I wouldn't be too worried about a Bluebeard (Caryopteris). If you get ANY green, it'll survive. I've got over 30 of them here & there throughout my yard and they're the hardiest things I've ever seen! They can survive ANYTHING! Seriously! I started with one teeny one from a $1 pot at Home Depot back in '08 and now they're competing against my roses on taking over my yard! And they're easy to propagate, too.. I've accidentally started new ones by transplanting one & leaving some of the roots back in the original hole. Next spring I had a new plant!
