I love 'Major Wheeler'. Such a beautiful honeysuckle. I think you could use any of those things. A fan trellis would work if it's very sturdy and well secured. Any honeysuckle would tend to make the upper part of a fan trellis top-heavy, IMHO. You can do a lot of pruning but that sort of defeats the purpose for me.

Yes, definitely a strong support is needed. I think the trellis could be as tall and as wide as you want it, but you should be able to reach the top fairly easily some way in order to cut it when the time comes. That honeysuckle should fill it just fine.

Other ideas welcome. Green Grin!
