You can trim that Schefflera just about any way you want. Most cut stems will branch, presenting a more dense plant. The cuttings generally root quite easily in damp potting soil.

I can't advise you about the selling or the giving. That's up to you.

Thank you for the response , sorry for my delayed reply .

First about the trimming , can I trim anytime of the year ? ; as I have 1 well, 2 really that need cutting now but here it's 'avg 90 o + with pretty high humidity , guess they love that tho . *Blush* .

I asked about selling cause I have so many & we live on a quarter acre with very little Sun + our home sits E-W & gets maybe 5% light in the Winter so grow lights are a must in winter time as I must bring them in . Anyway I have 20 + Sheffs in different stages of growth , some a quite big for my area , they are all 'clones' of a Mother plant I still have that was a gift when my Mom passed in 2001. Soo they mean a-lot to me + I have a 15 ? year old Sago Palm that will take up half the garage this Winter as it ' frond-ed out over the past month ( it did not "frond' last year cause it needed to be re-potted ) + I got 4 large Draconia (sorry for my spelling ) plants + old Christmas Cati to look after but those are another story , needless to say i'm overwhelmed . D'Oh!

I may have stated in my last message that I'd love to give them away but I want poeple to respect or take care of their investment (but in the end I can not controll that , I feel like they are my kids , it's a Mental issue really Sighing! Big Grin .) , heck I talk to them & everything tho they don't talk back ..yet Hilarious!

If I lived where you do or where yr location says I'd be better off ( I suppose ) I went to Vero Beach back around 2011-12 & saw them growing wild & was amazed & recall thinking "how cool " but I've learned they can be a nu-seance down there as well .

Mine are the dark green variety with huge leaves, well they get huge .

Many are 'air rooting ' & would make good 'Bonsai ' projects for someone .

Sorry I know yr not a Psyc Dr LOL , so I gusee Pruning is my main ? really , sorry for TMI but I just want to relay my feelings about my Plant Kids .

I can pay my Son to post pic's if you like & or since i'm awful with computers ......can this be moved to a forum ? Hmmm ? Ill try to figure that out .

Anyway I truly appreciate your time & advice have a great day.
