The nigellas were so prolific this spring. They have such interesting flowers and the seed pods are very cool.

Cal, I'm not 100% sure but this one may be Cramer's Plum (n. damascena). I grew a couple of varieties and the pods in the photo are from the one that bloomed the most, you can see them in the background of the photo. I also grew Midnight (n. papillosa), Miss Jekyll Alba (n. damascea), Miss Jekyll Blend (n. damascea), and African Bride (n. papillosa). It's definitely a great flower to add to the garden.
