Our local Savannah Backyard Gardeners Facebook group is a nice bunch of people. When one member ha some wind damage to his Duranta erecta plant, he cut off the damaged branches, piled them in the back lane, and offered them free to the group.

I grabbed the dogs and drove in the rain and picked up several branches. Prepared the cuttings and waited to see what happened. There are now 33 that rooted successfully, 2 or 3 were duds, and one was an over-achiever.

And on that trip to Lowe's to buy potting soil to re-pot the rooted cuttings, I found a broken stem on the floor and stuck it into my water bottle and forgot all about it. Look at this! I'm thinking it might be a hardy Hibiscus but am not certain.
