I was fortunate enough to see your post!! I've encountered one very similar to what you describe as the original 'Banshee' rose from 1773, but wasn't really certain until i saw your pics. The one I have is very hardy and similar to Maiden's blush, but this one doesn't ball nearly as badly as the Maiden with more open blooms and a slightly different wonderful old-rose scent. This one is more like a damask and really different from High Country's Banshee. I love it - I struggle to keep some roses going while this one grows like a weed, even from a broken cane I replanted.
