Uh...rather embarrassed to say but use a good old fashioned box of Stove Top.
I have made home made stuffing before with the bread, herbs (parsley, sage, thyme, savory), celery, garlic and carrots etc. and it is wonderful. But the husband likes the Stove Top stuffing.
So if that's what he wants then fine by me. Easy, less time, less dishes and quick. I'll accommodate him. He doesn't ask me for a whole lot so when he does it isn't hard for me to 'grant' his requests. I am going to poke around and see if we have any apple sauce. That would be good with today's dinner also.
Your tomatoes from the garden sound wonderful Rita. I am truly envious. There is nothing more delicious than a fresh garden tomato sliced up and just lightly salted. YUUUUUUUUUUM!
Started with some rather tasty bone in chops about 1/2 " thick. Got them when pork was cheap for $5.37 for two.
Seasoned them with some garlic salt, cayenne pepper, sage and thyme. Browned them and some sliced Portobella mushrooms in just 2 Tablespoons of olive oil and a table spoon of butter until they took on some color and browned nicely on both sides.
Deglazed with just a literal splash of white wine (pinot grigio) Added my 2 cans of Campbell's Golden Mushroom soup and 1/2 can water. Put in oven to bake on 350 F for 1.5 hours. Should come out nice and thick and fall off the bone fork tender. Normally 1 can of soup and 1/3 can of water would suffice. I make more 'gravy' because I like the extra to put over egg noodles and sauteed mushrooms for a mostly 'meatless' meal on a different day. Quite tasty and makes a nice, quick filling lunch.
Photos of dinner to come.
Happy Day all
