When we toured the model homes last year at Babcock Ranch in Florida, all the floors were tile.. either porcelain or a very thick rubber?? Vinyl?? I don't know but grained like a light colored or washed wood.. indestructible ... gorgeous —both the actual porcelain and the other.. both are "planks" .. maybe 3 feet by 6-8-10 inches wide. Babcock is all environmentally responsible..indoors and outdoors ... houses from $275K maybe to well over a million.. a self contained "mini city" . Elementary school coming. The entire walls of the great rooms open to the screened pool/ lanai .. ..Each year the developers provide buses .. the buses take the guests to each " neighborhood "...one builder per neighborhood. We are given a wrist band with these wee tags.. when we are dropped off at the model or group of models, a food truck is waiting.. all international foods.. and desserts .. each "offering" costs a tag or two or three.. ITS FUN and it's so interesting to see all the energy saving new home /smart home technology. Things have come a long way..
I had a kitchen disaster today...( to me ) I was browning butter for the chocolate chip cookies ..the browning gives the cookies depth..a toffee flavor .. I was actively stirring The butter to assure no burning when it started foaming up..it happened in a second!! I lifted it off the heat .. same time trying to shut the flame.. but it kept foaming.. a damn volcano! The lava butter covered the burners ( two are sealed and three are not ) the butter went everywhere.. it filled the holes in the burners.. one of the burners still not 100%. Took me an hour and a half to clean..and clean..and clean. What a DRAG.
Anyway, After what should have been a quick cookie detour, I planned on making this chicken dish for dinner .. I don't know what to call it. I flour and brown chicken parts in butter and with a piece of bacon —so some grease.. then I add mushrooms and onions to the drippings and sauté those..lots of garlic too.. ..then add a bit of broth and some wine and some cream and put the chicken back let it simmer .. there is more to it ..but that's the gist. But after all that cleaning ... I just decided to defrost a turkey soup I made earlier this week.. I cooked a lot of the broth down to condense and deepen the flavor and then tossed the thickened mix with some fresh house made and buttered fettuccini .. added some fresh grated parm.
the hubby loved it. It was pretty good.. ..just the cooked down turkey soup
