I've been told that freesias won't grow in the ground here in zone 8b. However, I have 2 that I planted in the ground 4 or 5 years ago that still come up every year & bloom in early spring --well, as long as I rake some pine straw over on them so they won't get hit with a frost or a freeze. Have any of you had luck with them in a zone similar to mine? Did you plant them in the fall or in late winter?
