Database pics from the past couple of months... first 2 pics are 6 weeks apart (it's a long lasting show).



This is how you harvest offsets from E. flanaganii quickly and safely.



The offsets on this anoplia x polygona are coming from underground stems, like the anoplia parent.



Leaves and spines coming out of the growth center



These buds have started to open recently and the area is loudly abuzz with small flying insects



3 different stages of cyathia development visible here



Took this picture to document the small dead (aborted) leaves that the plant puts out every so often, in order to grow more stem



Kind of odd that this plant is in active growth at the end of summer (after months of drought), but I'm not complaining. A zero water plant:
