As an immigrant to PA, I learned some stuff.
DID YOU KNOW that at some point, the US decreed that all the burghs, bergs, and burgs be standardized to burgh? And thus it remained for a few years until Pittsburgh successfully petitioned to get their H back. We are the ONLY burgh with an h on the end! And yet there are a few buildings around without it, built in those interim years. I got that little gem from WQED.
