Dipladenia and Mandevilla have been lumped together now. According to Sunset Western Garden Book "Mandevilla splendens, Dipladenia splendens, evergreen. Native to southeastern brazil. Compact, shrubby plant to 2 ft tall, 3ft wide; eventually starts to twine (to 15-20ft tall with support), but you can keep it bushy by pinching out climbing shoots. Varieties that are lower growing and shrubbier than the species are superb in hanging baskets include 'My Fair Lady' (White blooms), 'Red Riding Hood' (deep cherry red flowers), and 'Scarlet Pimpernel' (scarlet flowers). Similar in form is 'Strawberry Lemonade', with deep pink, yellow throated flowers. It's leaves are beautifully verigated in mint green, cream, and white, with pink flushes when young."
Hope this helps, Carol
