Sue, do you have a sheltered spot on a porch that is protected from the rain? The reason I ask is that bright light is important. Its OK to dry it out inside, but it will eventually need to get the light from outside.

A couple of tricks to consider for the future:

1) Plant semps on a hillside so that they cannot sit in water for any length of time
2) Mound them up a little when planting (make a mound in the dirt so the semp sits higher up)
3) Grow in containers
4) Raised beds

Again, once established, they should not give you trouble.
