I believe this Aglaonema is one of the hundreds of silver leaved natural hybrids discovered on Luzon Island, Philippines about 1960 by a small group of locals picnicking near a jungle area. One of them strolled to the jungle and discovered a gigantic "hybrid swarm" of ags with many different patterns, but all of them with a basic silver theme. They had been crossing and recrossing in the jungle for decades. Two of the locals were nurserymen and realized the importance of the discovery. Dr. Frank Brown of Aglaonema hybridizing fame heard about the discovery and immediately flew there to collect as many of the different types as possible. He brought hundreds back to his home in Indialantic, Fla and named many of them. He named this particular ag alumina v. armandii for his guide, Armando Cruz. I bought this ag from Dr Brown 25 years ago. I have many propagations of it that I can send for postage in the summer, also have 2 other silver types from the swarm in more limited supply.
