I am reposing from Prairie Peony Society on Facebook:
Adventitious Root Peonies:
Part 2
Further to Part 1 (yesterday), and how you might duplicate peonies for yourself or for friends, here is a primary list of peonies that have a reasonably good chance of propagation from adventitious roots:
Abalone Pearl*, Angelo Cobb Freeborn**, Ann Berry Cousins**, Carina*, Cherry Charm**, Cherry Ruffles**, Christina*, Command Performance**, Coral 'n Gold*, Coral Charm*, Coral Supreme*, Coral Fay**, Coral Sunset*, Cytherea*, Edgar Jessup**, Eliza Lundy**, Fairy Princess**, Faithful Dream**, Flame*, Good Cheer*, Joker**, Little Rhyme*, Lovely Rose**, Lorelei**, Ludovica**, Many Happy Returns*, May Treat*, Nathalie**, P. aientina**, P. hybrida (intermedia)**, P. mollis (officinallis variant)*, P. officinalis*, P. officinalis 'humulis'*, P. officinalis 'Plena' complex**, P. peregrina 'Otto Froebel'**, Paladin*, Paula Fay*, Pink Hawaiian Coral*, Postillion**, Raspberry Charm*, Red Red Rose**, Red Windflower**, Rose Garland**, Rose Heart**, Royal Tot*, Salmon Glow**, Thumbelina**, Tropicana*, Viking Valor*
*= highly successful, **= moderately successful
Note: List provided by Nate Bremer, 28 January 2021.
You will note that almost all of the coral-colored peonies and many of the raspberry colored peonies seem to have it in their genes to produce adventitious roots. This comes from their common coral ancestor, Peregrina.
See Part 3 (tomorrow) for other peony names with adventitious root possibilities.
