Wow, those critters were hungry. I wonder if it would help if you put rabbit repellent granules on the soil surface? I got sick of spraying for deer and rabbits and have found the granules last longer and seem to work for me.

If it helps, you will have many, many pups from the Magalis you have, my old mom plant looks horrible and the middle is rotting but she keeps producing.
