We live on top of a fairly steep hill. Not a long one, but difficult to navigate when the street is icy. Our daughter insisted we spend last night at their house in case the roads got worse and we couldn't get down the hill safely. We reluctantly gave in because the power in our neighborhood went out.
They came to pick us up about 4 PM. SIL has a Jeep, so we confidently headed to their home.
The highway, and even the streets, were deserted....They live about 3 miles from us, but it sure seemed farther.
It was snowing again and much colder.
They lost power there sometime overnight, and it was dark and cold. Their driveway was iced, so we decided they should come back home with us.
We are drippimg faucets, glued to weather reports, and....had to boil water because the tap water isn't safe.
When will this end?...
