I just wash it, stab a couple of times with a knife, and zap it in the microwave for 10-12 minutes, depending on size. When you can easily pierce it, it's done. Slice in half, seed, and string out with a fork.

In a pan, heat oil and butter, saute some minced fresh garlic and whatever spices you like (I used Mrs Dash Italian and parsley). Toss in squash, sprinkle with good Parm, and toss. Serve with more Parm. It's delicious.
