Many Texans are mourning the loss of their plants after the historic cold front. It saddens me to see so many photos on garden webs of frozen huge agaves and devastated aloes. Now we're beginning to worry about the Natives - cenizos, Mexican buckeyes, persimmons, live oaks, and many others. It's a sad time, and I'm doing my best to remain hopeful - but it's hard.

I thought I had dodged the bullet as far as frozen pipes go - but then I went into the garage and discovered it "raining" inside. My neighbor came over and turned off the water supply and pulled down all the soaked insulation. Now I'm on a System Down list for the pool pump and a First Available list for a plumber. I might need to add a Plant Therapist to that list!
