Top...those suckers are pulled out quick...I don't have that room in that spot...my Grandmother's lilac did not sucker...but she never watered it either.
My Hot Pink rose scented peony has very adventitious roots from less that 1 1/2 inches!! I am going to have 6 or so plants...not sure about blooms though.
