Thanks for the replies .... I didn't have much of an issue with birds last year but I sure don't want to endanger them. I used chicken wire, just laid over the beds last year but it was a pain to take off every time I wanted to pick a berry. (and ugly ... I do care about ugly)

I suppose some kind of frame could be made, but I'm not handy at that sort of thing.

Thanks for the tip on the birds, I'll keep searching for something else.
