Hello New Cactus & Succulent Friends,

I'm excited to start following this group on garden.org. I am a rose growing enthusiast and have many friends on that forum!

Over the weekend I added a Euphorbia Ammak to my hair salon plant family and have a few Qs:

I bought a water meter, what % of water should I look to maintain? I've read that I should water less, like once a month during the winter months and every other week during the growing season. I gave it 8 oz. of water today. Does that sound good?

During the move, the cactus sustained some small tears at the joints of the new sections/"leaves?" on top. Will they callous over? I attached a pic of the worst tear. The piece of leaning pretty heavily and worried that one won't make it.

I'm thinking to put it into a more attractive planter. Should I just pop the plastic one it's currently in into the pot? Or should I replant? If so, I will have to research that some more because I am afraid that I could damage the roof of the EA.

Also, it is Leaning a bit. I do not know if it was leaning when I bought it or if it's something that happened during the move. Should I seek to replant to remedy or just face it leaning away from window and hope the sun will do the trick.

Thank you Community for your help,

Mark
