You are right, the pot is too big. Since it has been in it such a short time, it would be okay to repot it down a few sizes. The leaves are completely normal, sometimes they just do that. Dracaenas are pretty tough forgiving plants so basic care instructions; bright light (not a lot of direct sun), moist but not soggy and normal temperatures will keep it happy.
