Hi Jojoe! I also grow Elephant bush..and mine is growing also in a container, just growing taller, and it does not do little ones a lot. I am thinking it is affected by how much sun it gets. It seems to favor being in full sun the whole day, while in my garden it gets part sun.

I saw my aunt's Elephant bush, and her plant grows downward, so it is hanging over naturally. Not sure which type does that..but here is a photo of her plant:

My cousin in Chula Vista, CA grows their elephant bush on the ground and it really got very tall and robust, looked like a natural fence post with leaves Big Grin

I am keeping mine in a container..in a container and with part sun, I am hoping it will not grow too tall..here is how my plant looks like:
