Dot, aren't your plants in pots? If so, did you happen to use a moisture additive soil? The only plant that I ever lost to rot was Mort Morss(paid more for this plant than any I ever bought) and I had planted it in MG moisture control soil. I've used some this year but I've added loads of pine mulch in with it, so I hope it doesn't cause a problem. I got it in with a pallet of broken bags that I bought for really really cheap at Home Depot. So, I sure hope it doesn't cause a problem with all the pine mulch added in. This is Just an idea. I sure hope your efforts work.

It's just plum heartbreaking to lose a plant. Especially one that's as pretty as that one.
