LOL Tiffany, his girlfriends grandmother may have no idea what the plant is. I know many Floridians who've lived here their entire lives and yet have no clue of what one plant is from another. Green Grin!

KellyFW mentioned Epidendrum tampensis but I'm sure she meant Encyclia tampensis. Crucifix Orchid (Epidendrum radicans) are commonly grown as landscape plants here in Florida and although I have a neighbor growing some epiphytically on a tree, they are usually grown in the ground as terrestrial orchids.

I'm not sure how that Encyclia tampensis will do in an enclosed terrarium situation because they require really, really good air circulation but keep us posted with updates on how it's doing!
