Rita, Redbuds grow in the wild here. They are usually seen on the edge of the woods, or tree-line, it's called around here.
I have lots of them in my yard. They have beautiful blooms in the Spring. Then they have gorgeous heart-shaped leaves. The one I really really love, is Forest Pansy Redbud. It is a hybrid I bought several years ago. It has deep maroon leaves. The go through about 5 different colors in the Spring before they settle into the deep color. I don't know how it multiplies because the seed pods it sets doesn't have any seeds in them. It sets thousands of pods, I guess each little cluster of blooms has a pod for each tiny bloom. The blooms grow out of the branches.
