I am not a scientist; just a retired children's librarian who likes iris & does some hybridizing with median ones.
As we had an excellent hybridizer in our club to help the rest of us along, I used here knowledge & one of her plants from I. aphylla to use as a pod parent & after several crosses with 5 buds came to my seedling which had 7. Hooray. resgistered & introduced as BB Hi Buddy.
Now with a nice group of TB seedlings; good flowers, strong growers etc TB & wanting a certain color, look for the same which have more buds. I don't know what is available in Russia, but one may have to go away with the color to find a higher bud count. When produced return to the preferred color & try & get color/buds form/ growth to get what you wish. It should take several tries & Sergio doesn't wish to lose what he has gained. but just crossing to each other will not increase the buds. That search will have to bring in something else. Tougher with TBs than with medians.
