Surely it's sentimental, but an iris clump's very last blossom to me always seems especially lovely. The flower, while smaller, would have perfect form and, often, a touch of something extraordinary. Here's my very last Absolute Treasure blossom this year. The blue has pooled around the hafts. Otherwise the color verges on white, in which the diamond dusting seems especially prominent. In sunlight it absolutely glows. I will look forward to seeing it again next year; meanwhile I'll have pictures like this to remind me of the bloom season!
