bxncbx said:I haven't ever ordered daylilies from Schreiners but they carry a lot of Maryott daylilies and I have ordered from them before. Maryott always sent nice large fans but typically only a double fan. I'm not sure if Schreiners sends more fans or not but I'd expect the same large fans.

However, if they haven't already shipped your plants you might want to order a second double fan of any Maryott daylilies (if you bought any). I haven't had a lot of luck with them in our zone. They often survive a year or two but if we have a bad winter/spring they often die. I do think that I have a better chance of them surviving if I start out with a clump (4+ fans). Prickly Sensation had a rocky start but I got it as a BOGO and now it seems completely hardy and happy in my garden. I'm going to have to divide it soon and will be happy to send you some fans! Hanalei Bay and Griffin Miller were double fans and have struggled. But they seem to have adapted and added fans the last year or two. Shiraz and Doubly Hot are both down to single fans and I honestly should send them to a warmer climate because one bad year will kill them off.

Now you made me look at Schreiners sale. I love Maryott daylilies. Just wish they did better for me. I just might have to buy 1 or 2 though. Whistling

I have bought from Schreiners and some plants are going on 2 years old. They weren't massive fans like Maryott. Some are really struggling. Some are ok. I lost a few the first winter and they did replace 2 of them, although if you could see how pitiful Orange Dynamite looks, you'd ask me why I have it even taking up space. So many of what were 2 fans are only 1 fan now.

And like BXNCBX, I have had had Maryott plants now for 6 years. So many of them are still 1-2 fans. My Griffin Miller is now 3 fans and will bloom for the 2nd time in 6 years. Prickly Sensation has done better, but this year there is not a single fan on either of my clumps. Billy the Kid is about 3-4 fans. Outer Space is 1 sole fan. I just love those flowers, but the plants are not happy here.
