We've talked about this before, but for anyone new to freezing pollen, here's a tip Curt Hanson told me about that has worked very well. Place the stamen containing your desired anthers on a cheap paper plate and label them with the name of the cv. I like to use ones that aren't plastic coated but either will do. In a day or two the anthers will be loose and dry while the stamen have dessicated and will stick to the plate. With tweezers place only the anther into a micro tube, label it, and freeze. Reverse tweezers are great for this. Note: Make sure your DH who is cleaning out the basement knows there's frozen pollen in the mini-fridge so he doesn't unplug it!

Here's a pic of the pollen I collected today. My T17 seedling had 6 blooms and several polys today so I giggled when I saw all of it's anthers on the plate. They reminded me of tadpoles.
