It was so cool - no, cold - and windy last night, I tacked the plastic sheet back up to protect my young melons. Still cool today, but didn't rain as much as they said it would - just enough to wet down the firewood, just when it would be a pleasant temperature for stacking. So I have to find some other exercise to take advantage of relatively pain-free joints. Mix the soil for the big indoor plants I'll have to repot (though I usually do it in fall before i bring them back in. And top-dress tomatoes and peppers in individual pots. I'v put manure, but not yet any more soil on the large bins. Tied up a few tomatoes....
....anything but look at the kitchen floor and hear its pitiful cries for a wash....
