Definitely not an excess of bees and butterflies here this year, either - I did see a couple of honeybees on the clover (our yard is also full of it), a large bumblebee on a crown vetch plant, a smaller bumble on something else that I can't remember now, and a couple of small native bees of some sort. Lots of stuff flowering right now, and I have a lot of Johnny Jump-Ups that usually are really buzzing with bees but not at present. About the same amount of butterflies - usually we have masses of painted ladies around, and have seen very few of them this year. Sad
