@profesora, The following info is what usually happens in my zone and this is what I'm comfortable with. The usual number of years for observation is at least 3 years. I have seedlings that are 5 years old that look better than when they were 3. You'd want an average for the buds and scape counts, plus the blooms normally take 3 years to come into their own. I have only one registered cultivar though, I hope the more experienced hybridizers will chime in.
