I believe that you are correct in the plant being a tacca. I should have figured it out from the tentacles. The plant was a volunteer in a pot with amorphophallus Konjak that I got from Tropiflora years ago and had a single divided leaf so I assumed it was an aroid like gonatopus or anchomanes etc. that have a single leaf. Thank you so much, now I can narrow my search to tacca species. Tacca also makes sense with the second leaf coming out where the bloom is emerging. I'll call Tropiflora and ask what tacca species they've carried in the past. Again thank you all!
