Always enjoy your pictures, Dot. I found scapes on my Wonder of It All...here's hoping it will look like yours this year. Every year since I've had it...so far...it's had great difficulty opening blooms. However, when it does open, it is stunning.

Also, love your picture of Zahadoom. I've heard wonderful things about it, but the three or four times I've seen it in person, it appeared muddy in color. Hmph. Not yours! Very nice.

I think you must take very good care of your daylilies. I love seeing them do what they are capable of.

Speaking of color differences, today I had the ffo open on Turquoise Temple which the Lambertsons sent as a nice bonus (when you only order one plant, I don't expect a bonus). It's settling in, so I give it that and the bloom was nice size (much larger than it photographs, to me)...but, yech on the color. Not the beautiful lavender of their picture(s), like in the database here. I do notice a cool tint to theirs, but even today, which is overcast here and when I can usually count on good color...well, not on this one. But. Big but (haha)...colors can and do change/vary. I know I have totally different soil than it's been grown in, I fertilize differently, etc., etc....plus, it's a new plant. Hard as it is, I try not to judge a plant on these very new blooms. More clues (to it settling in...) short scapes, low budcount. Those things will definitely improve with time.

I have seen some daylilies take up to three years (here, in my garden) to do what they're supposed to...it can be very hard to be patient....especially when you're low on space and always wanting more, more more...haha.
