No, its not Burle Marx. But its another common one that people landscape with in So FL.
As to IDing plain green Philos, a friend of mine who is a sort of world renowned aroid expert recently posted a post that read something like this.....'Please, stop asking me to ID your plain green NOID philos. There are a lot of those that just look a lot alike. To separate them would take so many points of morphological differentiation that I would not have time in my year to do it. Unless, you wanted to PAY me. Then, I would delve into it."
And this is really true. There are a lot of philos, (ad Anthuriums) species and hybrid, that simply cannot be identified unless you submit every point of morphological data. Like the space between the nodes. The shape of the petiole. A bloom. The venation pattern of there leaf. The way the leaf OPENS. Etc Etc Etc.
He;s not trying to be haughty. He's trying to be honest, and say, just enjoy what you have.
