They are Alpinia purpurata. They are so not hardy outside of at least zone 10A, 10B is better. You can grow them in containers, they have to be a certain size to bloom, so you may've to keep stepping them up. I grow them, but unfortunately, they are not on my Texas plant specific list to be able to ship there for the nematode quarantine.

I would suggest you look on ETSY at a seller 'Yeybroms'. He ships out of Puerto Rico and is a licensed nursery with certification to ship everywhere. He commonly has ALpinia purpurata in a variety of colors
