Mmm - your compacta is really nice. I lost a really big one when I set it outside because of mealy bugs - and then it froze. Grrrr....

When I was growing it, I felt like it was a plastic plant; for about 3 years I had NO growth on it whatsoever. Then I read that it probably liked more water and more light than I was giving it, so I moved it to a bright eastern window and began watering it as soon as it got dry - perhaps every 10 days or so, but I was in a pretty humid climate. It started some new growth soon after, but died soon after that. Thumbs down So, I guess my advice would be to keep it a little on the dry side, but not for long.
