It really does! And I love reusing those spice bottles too.

I have the herbs in white plastic jars that the SO's big pills came in. Pre -pandemic, I used to browbeat the pharmacy into refilling those, but now I can't, so I have to find uses for them.
Are your mixes homemade? If so, might you be willing to share the recipes?

Nothing fancy. I do buy big bags of whole seeds and grind them in my little spice mill - love my little spice mill! For cabbage and cauliflower: black pepper, caraway, a little bit of dried bay leaf and chili. For beans: coriander, cumin, black pepper, a bit of cardamon. I also grow the herbs, of course, dry them and just rough crumble them. For soup: parsley, paprika, black pepper, celery leaf. For mushrooms: parsley, thyme, savoury, chervil if I have it. And a basic Italian mix: oregano, basil, sage, red pepper flake. Rosemary stays on its own for sometimes; cilantro and dill are in the freezer for when I have none fresh.
Behind every opportunity is a disaster in waiting.
