It is up to you if you want you could ask for new plants from the supplier. Just take some pictures and email them.
Or you can plant them and wait for new leaves to grow, if the roots are ok then the rest is just growth. Seems like the USPS is making thinner boxes. You should have seen the thing I got from Mamajacks but in side all was OK, still looked like someone played football with it. Grumbling
I had a rabbit chew off some leaves on my Paul's Glory and they have already grown back, I just trimmed off the bad leaves and gave it a little fertilizer and water more often. Also I did get a few plants with broken leaves and I did not say anything just trim off the bad leaves and maybe give some diluted Miracle Grow to keep it from going into shock. Actually the diluted Miracle Grow would be nice for all mail order Hosta to prevent the mail-order-shock. I let the bare root Hosta soak in plain water with a pinch of MG for about 24 hours, and then plant or pot them up. None have died so far, also any bare root plant , is good to soak it at least overnight to re-hydrate.
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Mat.6:28-29
