Possibly..there used to be a carob tree on the next road over many years ago, don't know if it's still there. For some reason carrotwood comes to mind also, though I've never grown a carrotwood and don't know that I'd even know what one looks like. Will go look up some images.....
I think you may be right, Carol. The leaf edges on the carob look more 'wavy' than those of the carrotwood.
