I have been using them a lot, though the ones I get are in bead form, in little packets, and they really last long and comes in different fanciful colors too: blue, white, red, orange etc, so they are pretty nice when put in glass containers. My Dracaena sanderiana, golden pothos and amaryllis survives using the water gels, though I add hydroton rocks for a measure of support and for more aeration to some of them. I hydrate them well before I use it. Just be careful if you are handling them if you are by the sink, the gel might fall into your drain and clog it. Big Grin And if they happen to start getting smaller, just add water to plump it up in time.
