My husband's cousin and wife live in Brussels. They are on a trip to Canada. Had actually hoped to go to Los Vegas, but found they Europeans cannot fly into the USA. Clarence still has a Canadian passport, but his wife does not. So, they were in Vancouver yesterday, where his sister lives and arrived in Ottawa today. They aren't staying with us, but came for dinner. BBQ chicken using the BBQ sauce commonly used in western New York State. I believe it originated at the New York State Fair. I've modified it since the '50s - less oil and less salt, but the whole family uses it. It's basically 1 egg, 1 C cider vinegar, 1/3 - 1/2 cup oil, 1 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning, 1/4 tsp. white pepper and I now use 2 tsp. salt. Put it all in the blender. I always thought it was a family recipe, but I'm on a chat list for the small community in which I grew up about 10 miles east of Rochester, NY and at one point they started talking about this sauce. Seems its use is a whole lot more widespread than I thought.

Potato salad, garden salad and for dessert, this peach pie which was every bit as good as it looked.
