I have never used Clearys336F. I have not read much about it but from your statement "I suspect the spray will do that anyhow as it is systemic". I don't think there is any chance of it killing friendly Mycorrhizal fungi in the soil. There are different types of systemic movements in fungicides and Cleary's 336 according to this article is xylem-mobile. That just means it has upward movement in the plant. So using it as a drench it would move up from the roots to the higher portions of the plant, but it does not have downward movement in the plant as a spray. So make sure the lowest parts of the leaves get sprayed. If just the outer tips of the leaves are sprayed that is all that will be protected.
This little article is one of the best I have seen at explaining the movements of fungicides.

It is very rare to find systemic fungicides that are Amphimobile fungicides , even my expensive Azoxystrobin which l love, is only xylem-mobile. So what I like to do when dividing plants is to mix up a gal. and use it as a root soak on the plants I am shipping then when I have finished those I use it as a drench on the divisions I potted up and did not ship.
