Hi, everybody. I tried starting two tree dahlias--Dahlia campanulata and Dahlia imperialis Caerulea--from seed this year. Although they are about as tall as I am now, I suspect they aren't going to bloom this year, so I can't tell which is which from the flowers. (Yes, trying to grow them here in zone 5 wasn't too bright of me!)
Can anybody identify which is which from the photos below? As you can see, one has a grooved stem and the other doesn't. Also, the one with the grooved stem has lighter and somewhat broader leaves than the other one does. Thanks for any help you can give me.
